the one where time's in a bottle

Why does time seem to stand still for so much of life? We spend years just going about our daily lives, just living and not realizing that time is passing. Then one day, you meet an old friend with their child and some how this child has aged so much that it’s hard to imagine time could have passed so quickly. I walk past a wrought iron table and chairs every day as I go in and out of my house. I finally looked at today and couldn’t understand why it was so rusted. Wasn’t it just the other day, no actually 3 YEARS ago it was new? What happened in those last 4 years that I didn’t notice time passing? Time stands still for things we don’t want and passes way to quickly for the good things.
I’ve got tons of things to do and absolutely no motivation. I also wish I had a sewing machine, and for that matter, knew how to sew. Well, if I am wishing I should wish for something good. Maybe a million dollars. And a pony.

a day late and a dollar short

Tuesday, at work I met Clint Longley, aka "The Mad bomber".

Thanksgiving Day at Texas Stadium
Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins
Remember the Mad Bomber? The events that transpired during the final minute of this Thanksgiving Day epic will live in infamy for those who witnessed it. The Redskins were 35 seconds away from clinching a playoff berth when a rookie quarterback -- Clint Longley -- tossed an improbable 50-yard touchdown to Drew Pearson to give the Cowboys a shocking last-second victory. Washington did nearly everything imaginable to pull out this game, including forcing five turnovers and knocking starting quarterback Roger Staubach out of the game. But a blocked field goal and their inability to stop a neophyte quarterback making his first regular-season appearance still has Redskins' fans scratching their collective heads 28 years later.

Nice guy. I asked if he liked playing football and he said yes but it was very, very hard work. I'll just bet so.

Then today I met Rikki Rios, a DJ at Texas radio. She was super sweet. I had a nice time chatting with her. One of the jobs I would love to have (but don't really have the guts to do it) is a radio DJ. She told me it was a great job but doesn't pay that well. I guess that's the story of my life. I am always looking for my dream job and it NEVER pays well. Why couldn't my dream job be, for instance, a plastic surgeon living in Beverly Hills?

my Caesar salad is a bit too garlicy......

I can't sleep. I'm utterly exhausted and can't sleep. I finally took an OTC sleep aid and decided to play on the computer until it starts to take effect. So here we are at the ungodly late hour of, let's see.....11:28 PM. Sometime ago I became an old woman and started going to bed by 10 PM and waking up around 7:30 AM. I don't know why and thank goodness the new job fits this schedule so well. Except tonight. And you would think 10 hours in the car would lend itself to my sleepiness, but that is probably why I am so wired up tonight. We went to the home town to visit mom and pops and celebrate sis’s birthday and decided that we would take the Super Scenic route home and check out a bunch of the small seaside towns between there and here. It was nice for awhile but then I was tired and super over it and we still had about 2 more hours before we got home. Little town people are odd. And sometimes not so very friendly.
I've got some sort of acid reflux issue going on which woke me out of a dead sleep last night and has forced me to take large amounts of pepcid and tagamet so it doesn't happen again tonight. Of course, I think I was stupid to eat a garlicy (garlicky) Caesar salad before going to bed tonight and that may cause this stupid thing to act up again. I don't know why I don't think before I put things into my mouth.
I don't know why I don't think before I write things down. Wouldn't life be great if we had a Backspace button? Then after we spout off some dim-witted comment that makes us look like an idiot we could stop, hit Backspace and erase it. I could think of a lot of situations it might come in handy.
While I was sitting here trying to come up with hilarious things that I would like to use on my Backspace button I got bored when I couldn’t think of anything funny. So I started surfing for ideas and I came across this: Things my boyfriend says.com Go check it out, I'll wait.
I'm a bit cold and still not a bit tired but I have major fumble fingers and can't type without typing every other word with a huge typo so it's time to go and try to sleep.(and brush my teeth to get rid of the garlic......!)
